How does Daskapital handle taxes on income earned by investors on investments in Business Loans?

Daskapital manages tax withholding and reporting according to the promoter's origin and the investor's tax residence.

Investors residing in Portugal investing in:

  • Companies headquartered in Portugal: Daskapital withholds and reports tax to the Tax Authority (Article 71 of the IRS Code).

  • Companies not headquartered in Portugal: Tax must be paid as capital income obtained in the promoter's country of tax residence. In this case, Daskapital does not withhold tax - investors will then have to include Annex J in their annual income tax return.

Investors residing outside of Portugal investing in:

  • Companies headquartered in Portugal: Daskapital withholds the applicable tax (Article 71 of the IRS Code). Investors should check for any double taxation agreements in their country.

  • Companies not headquartered in Portugal: Daskapital does not withhold tax on income earned from investments in transactions promoted by non-Portuguese entities. Investors must declare their income in accordance with the rules of their country.

Applicable tax retention rates:

At the beginning of each year, all investors receive a detailed annual statement of income and withholdings for tax purposes for the previous year.
